Yes! You will be assigned a personal recruiter who will take time to get to know you, will be available for advice and consultation or just to talk. Your personal PPR recruiter will go far beyond anything you expect, becoming your trusted partner, advocate and friend. He or she will always be available, ready to help you through any difficulties, and can eagerly offer you professional advice.
Most assignments with PPR generally last 13 weeks. However, they can range from eight to 26 weeks depending upon the particular facility and assignment.  The assignments are for 36 or 40 hours each week.
We offer travel assignments across the United States. We have assignments in major cities and small communities. Just tell us where you want to go and we will find an assignment for you!
PPR places most of our nurses in the hospital setting. You will have a choice to work in large, world renowned teaching hospitals to smaller, community hospitals. For our allied health professionals, we place in hospitals, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities and school systems.
Your recruiter will ask you to fill out our application and skills checklist and to provide two names of current or previous supervisors or managers to call for a reference. Once this paperwork is completed, your recruiter will work with you to find an assignment or assignments that fit what you are looking for. Your profile will be forwarded to the facility contact and someone from the facility will call you to do a 30 minute or so interview. This is your chance to ask specific questions about the facility and its protocols as well as for the facility contact to get to know you and your skills set a little better. Once you have interviewed, your recruiter will call you with an offer from the facility and you have the choice to accept or decline the assignment. Next, your recruiter will send you a new hire packet with documents that PPR will need for you to complete before starting your assignment. If you have chosen PPR’s housing package, a Housing Coordinator will contact you to discuss your housing needs and any special requirements. Your recruiter will work closely with you to help with the documents and help you get ready to head to your new assignment. Your recruiter will provide you with your first day information. Your recruiter will continue to be your go-to person for any questions or concerns you may have.
Many factors will determine your rate of pay. Those factors include experience, specialty, location, shift, flexibility, housing, length of assignment and benefits. Please contact your recruiter for specific rates.
PPR pays on a bi-weekly basis. We offer direct deposit that begins as soon as your form is on file. You can have your paycheck deposited in up to three different checking or savings accounts.
As a PPR employee, you are eligible for one of the most comprehensive benefits packages in the industry. Here are just some of your options: Free, private housing including all furniture, house wares, and paid utilities. Tax free travel and full licensure reimbursement, paid to you the first week of your assignment.   Our comprehensive health insurance plan includes medical, dental, life, vision discount program, and prescription coverage. We handle your professional liability coverage and also offer supplemental short and long-term disability, and life insurance. You may take advantage of our free checking and other customer benefits through Bank of America, as well as our bi-weekly direct deposit. You will be eligible for our 401K plan after six months of employment and are vested immediately. Our Loyalty and Referral Bonus Programs are very generous and your recruiter would be happy to give you the details. Along with all of these great benefits, you will have one recruiter that will provide you with unmatched customer service.
PPR has a clinician on staff for you to share clinical concerns you may have about the assignment.
PPR will assign a recruiter to meet your specific needs and this recruiter will remain your point of contact throughout your assignment.
Once you’ve submitted your information you will be assigned to one of our very friendly and knowledgeable recruiters. They will talk to you about your plans and answer any questions you have about PPR as a company. If you were referred by someone that currently works for PPR and would like to work with their recruiter just let us know and we’ll see to it that you do.
You will need a license for each state that you work in. Your recruiter will work with you and direct you to the appropriate board and help you to obtain your new licensure. Your recruiter will also be able to give you an idea of how long it takes to obtain a license in each state. You can also check out each board’s website on the Helpful Links section of this website.
Most of our facilities expect our nurses to have at least one year of recent experience in the specialty in which you will be working. For our allied health professionals we are able to place new graduates at various facilities nationwide. Your recruiter will be glad to go over your experience and work history with you.
Absolutely! Traveling is a great way to experience new and exciting areas and a great experience to share with others. We will glad to accommodate your family/friends on your new assignment. Please see our Housing section for more details on the accommodations and the details on obtaining a larger apartment if needed.
Even when our office is closed we are still available to help you. Your recruiter will provide you with their after hours phone number so you will always have a way to reach them in the event of an emergency after business hours. Our housing department also has a hotline for after hours for any housing emergencies that arise. This phone number is 866-439-5038.
Your recruiter will get with you about half way through your assignment to discuss what you want to do next. You will also be placed with a retention specialist who with your recruiter will work to find what you are looking for during your next assignment. Many travelers will decide to extend at their current facility and do another assignment while other travelers will move on to a new assignment. It is our goal to have your next assignment in place before your current assignment ends so that you can plan for your next travel adventure.
Definitely! Roads to Rewards
Yes! This is a great option that we offer our travelers. A monthly stipend is a lump sum we provide based on the cost of living for that particular area. If you are eligible the amount is tax free and is based on the dates of the assignment.
Our prime concern is for the safety and comfort of our employees. Every effort is made to place you in an area that has been tried and proven by other travelers or has been highly recommended by the facility or Chamber of Commerce in the area.
We certainly know how important and beneficial it is to have a loyal, loving companion traveling with you and we welcome your pet. Just let your Housing Coordinator know the type and the weight of the pet you wish to bring and he/she will do their best to find a "pet friendly" home for both of you. Traveling with a pet does limit the housing selections available; however, we have been able to find many apartments that love your pet just as you do. Remember, PPR will pay the security deposit for your housing; however, pet deposits and additional pet rent are the responsibility of the pet owner.
If it is at all possible we will get a washer and dryer in your unit. There are rare occasions when this is not possible, however if this is the case there is usually a laundry facility within the apartment complex.
PPR will set up and pay all utilities with the exception of the phone and the cable. In some instances your new housing complex will offer free basic cable through the apartment. Your Housing Coordinator will let you know the names and phone numbers of the cable and phone companies that you need to contact and assist you with any of your needs.
You are able to move-in your apartment two days prior to your assignment starting and you are able to stay in your apartment two days after your assignment ends. This should give you enough time to get settled and to make other arrangements after your assignment ends.
